For over 130 years, the YWCA Greater Harrisburg has been a cornerstone of the community, dedicated to empowering women and families. Founded in 1894 during the Industrial Revolution, a group of visionary women recognized the urgent need for safe living conditions and educational opportunities for young women seeking employment in the city. As the needs of the community evolved, so did the YWCA, continuously adapting to provide innovative programs and services that enrich the lives of women, families, and the broader community.
