Established in 2017 by the First Lady, the Yumi C.A.R.E.S. Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the lives of pediatric patients through art therapy. The foundation's first program, Children’s Art for Recovery, Empowerment, and Strength, was launched at the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital, inspired by the resilience of young patients encountered during a personal journey with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Since October 2018, 339 pediatric patients have benefited from our art therapy programs, fostering emotional and physical healing through creative expression.
