Our Story

Founded in 2010, Yu Ming Charter School is California’s first Mandarin Immersion public charter school, established by a diverse group of families. Starting with just 100 Kindergarten and 1st grade students in Oakland Chinatown, the school has grown into a K-8 model that emphasizes academic excellence and bilingual education.
