YouthPort

Our Story

YouthPort was established in 2012 as a collaborative effort between Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor, Tanager, and YPN to address the unmet needs of local youth following the closure of a northeast Cedar Rapids school. This partnership created a centralized referral network, ensuring families have easy access to essential resources. Programs are designed by child development experts, focusing on family involvement and education, providing continuous support from birth to age 18.

Impact

Each week, YouthPort serves over 1,000 individuals and 250 families, making a significant difference in the community. Teacher surveys reveal an 87% improvement in student behavior, a 72% increase in homework completion, and remarkable advancements in literacy and math skills among students.
