Our Story

Incorporated in 1975, the Youth Shelter Program of Westchester is dedicated to offering innovative alternatives to incarceration for young people involved in the criminal legal system. Operating a 12-bed shelter and a community-based LEAD Academy, YSOW serves youth aged 16-25, focusing on rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Impact

YSOW annually supports around 150 youth, achieving a remarkable less than 20% rearrest rate and a 90% improvement rate in academic testing for those pursuing their high school equivalency diploma.
