Our Story

Founded in 1971 by Don Baker, Youth & Opportunity United Inc (Y.O.U.) was established to address the unmet needs of young people in Evanston. Over the years, Y.O.U. has evolved its services to ensure that youth are safe, supported, and successful, adapting to the changing landscape of community needs.

Impact

Each year, Y.O.U. serves over 1,400 youth and reaches more than 4,000 family members through various programs, including afterschool and summer learning initiatives, clinical counseling, and street outreach. With 93% of participants reporting increased confidence and 85% maintaining academic achievement, the impact is profound.
