Youth Forward

Our Story

Founded in 2017 by Jim Keddy in Sacramento, California, Youth Forward was created to combat the challenges faced by children and young people following the legalization of marijuana. The organization advocates for the reinvestment of marijuana tax revenues into youth prevention programs, particularly in communities of color affected by the War on Drugs. Youth Forward has broadened its mission to include mental health advocacy and co-leads the largest grassroots coalition in the city, Sac Kids First.

Our Impact

Collaborating with over 100 community-based organizations, Youth Forward shapes policy and drives impactful advocacy campaigns that benefit children, youth, and families across California.
