Our Story
Founded in 1918 as the Mission of Help, Youth and Family Counseling Service has evolved to meet the changing needs of the community. Initially an Episcopalian agency, it transitioned to a family-oriented counseling service in 1921. By 1961, it became a private, non-profit organization, focusing on providing essential mental health services to residents of Union County, New Jersey. With a dedicated facility at 233 Prospect Street in Westfield, YFCS has expanded its reach, serving a larger population and ensuring that quality counseling is accessible to all.
