Founded in 2015, Youth Entrepreneur Institute addresses the lack of entrepreneurial services for youth in Washington, D.C. The organization emerged from a diverse coalition of residents, educators, and activists determined to combat the effects of social turmoil in the community. Since its inception, YEI has empowered over 500 students, helping more than 50 launch successful businesses.
Utilizing entrepreneurship as a vehicle, YEI equips youth with essential STEAM skills, fostering self-confidence and educational growth. The goal is to inspire the next generation to 'put poverty out of business.'
