Organizational Story

Founded in 2018 by local pastor Craig Cobb and his wife Lisa, Youth Empowered to Prosper emerged from a grassroots initiative to support homeless youth in Palm Beach County. After witnessing the struggles of young individuals from the Lewis Center shelter, the congregation of City of Faith church pooled resources to provide shelter and secure apartment rentals. This effort blossomed into a comprehensive mentoring program, enhancing the chances of success for these youth. In August 2019, YEP established its first formal relationship with a Title One school, launching the Young Women Who Win mentorship program, which now operates in five schools and has expanded to serve youth in foster care through a partnership with Childnet.
