Our Story

Founded in 1971, Youth Development, Inc. (YDI) is a nationally-recognized organization based in New Mexico dedicated to serving youth and families. YDI provides a comprehensive range of services including early childhood education, job training, mental health support, and family counseling. For nearly five decades, YDI has been at the forefront of the battle against poverty, striving to create a nurturing environment that fosters growth and resilience in families facing life's challenges.

Our Impact

New Mexico faces significant challenges, ranking last in the nation for child hunger and education. YDI addresses these critical issues by providing over 500,000 free meals annually and helping students earn their high school equivalency diplomas. Since 2004, more than 1,000 diplomas have been awarded to YDI students, empowering them to pursue brighter futures.
