Youth Development Center (YDC) is dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk students in grades 1–6 in Houston. For over 25 years, YDC has provided a free after-school academic program, licensed through the Texas Health and Human Services, that focuses on brightening the futures of children in the community.
YDC’s students achieve remarkable literacy gains of 2.6 years and 1.1 years in mathematics, with 100% of first and second graders progressing towards independent reading.
