Our Story

Founded in 1971, Youth Crossroads Inc began as the Youth In Crisis Project, addressing the urgent needs of homeless youth and underserved teens in Berwyn. Over the years, the organization evolved, becoming an independent nonprofit in 1974 and rebranding in 2007 to reflect its commitment to prevention and holistic support. Today, Youth Crossroads serves thousands of youth and families in Berwyn, Cicero, Stickney, and neighboring communities.

Impact

Since its inception, Youth Crossroads has been a leader in gun violence reduction, offering trauma-informed mental health services and youth development programs. In the last 18 months alone, over 300,000 pounds of food have been distributed to more than 4,000 families in need, showcasing the organization's dedication to community support.
