Our Story

Founded in 1974 by Thelma J. Gungoll and a group of concerned citizens, Youth and Family Services of North Central Oklahoma emerged from a pressing need to support disadvantaged youth. Initially established as a temporary shelter, YFS has evolved into a comprehensive support system, addressing the unique needs of children affected by abuse, neglect, and delinquency. With nearly 50 dedicated staff members and a volunteer board of directors, YFS collaborates with Enid Public Schools and offers a range of vital programs, including outpatient counseling and diversion court programs.
