Our Story

Young-Williams Animal Center of East Tennessee is dedicated to addressing the challenges of pet homelessness and animal welfare in Knoxville. Since 2016, under the leadership of CEO Janet Testerman, the organization has implemented best practices that have significantly increased its save rate from 62.63% to an impressive 94.35% by 2019.

Impact

In 2021, Young-Williams Animal Center cared for over 10,000 pets, maintaining a save rate of 93.35%. The center provided financial assistance and approximately 18 tons of free food to help nearly 5,000 pets stay with their families, showcasing its commitment to animal welfare and community support.
