Our Story

Established in 2001, the Young New Yorkers’ Chorus (YNYC) unites exceptional choral musicians from across the city, showcasing the beauty and transformative power of choral arts. Under the leadership of General & Artistic Director Alex Canovas, YNYC performs a diverse repertoire in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the New York Botanical Garden. The organization is dedicated to nurturing new talent, debuting three original works annually through its Competition for Young Composers.
