Our Story
The Monroe Family YMCA was founded in 1954 by a dedicated group of community leaders, including Earl C. Kull and Grattan Gray. Over the years, the YMCA has relocated several times, with its current facility at 1111 West Elm Avenue dedicated in January 1970. The organization has a rich history of community engagement, including a significant capital campaign in 1968 and recovery efforts following devastating floods in 1982.
