About Young Dancers in Repertory

Founded in 1985, Young Dancers in Repertory is a pre-professional Teenage Touring Ensemble based in South Brooklyn. The organization was established by Craig Gabrian and Carol Mezzacappa to provide professional training for underserved youth aspiring to pursue careers in dance. In response to community needs, the Center for Dance Studies was opened in 1995, followed by the introduction of Arts-in-Education programs in 1996 and After School programs in 2000.

Impact of Young Dancers in Repertory

Today, Young Dancers in Repertory serves nearly 4,000 children annually, bringing the joy of dance to an audience of nearly 10,000 through year-round programming.
