Our Story
The York Street Project was established in 1989 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace to support homeless and economically disadvantaged women and children in Jersey City, New Jersey. With a focus on housing, education, and childcare, the organization operates a network of interrelated programs designed to address these essential needs.

Each year, nearly 400 women, children, and families receive the tools necessary to embark on their journey toward self-sufficiency. The addition of mental health professionals, life coaches, and case managers has enhanced the support provided to families.
