Our Story

Founded in 2015 by Bruce Manns and Metta Barbour, York Fresh Food Farms emerged from a shared vision to enhance access to fresh produce in York, Pennsylvania. Operating on over 4 acres in the city, the organization employs sustainable farming practices to provide affordable fruits and vegetables year-round, particularly for families facing food insecurity.

Impact

York Fresh Food Farms serves over 3,200 customers annually, with nearly half relying on SNAP and food assistance programs. In 2022, the community gardens yielded over 5,000 pounds of fresh produce for donation, showcasing a strong commitment to improving health outcomes in underserved neighborhoods.
