Our Story
The Yash Gandhi Foundation was established by Ash and Sonal Gandhi after their son, Yash, was diagnosed with Mucolipidosis II (I-Cell Disease) at just eleven months old. Faced with the heartbreaking prognosis that Yash would not live beyond his early years, the family turned their grief into action. Inspired by other parents who successfully advocated for cures for rare diseases, they founded the organization in 2001. Although Yash passed away shortly before his ninth birthday, his spirit continues to inspire the foundation's mission to raise awareness and fund critical research for I-Cell Disease.
Impact
The Yash Gandhi Foundation is the only organization globally dedicated solely to funding I-Cell research. With a commitment to ensuring that 100% of donations are directed towards finding a cure, the foundation has successfully funded multiple research grants that are paving the way for new therapies.
