Our Story
In 1961, a pivotal meeting convened by Governor Jack Gage brought together Wyoming's top business and civic leaders to address a pressing issue: the alarming accident rates in the state. With a death rate 80% higher than the national average from 1958 to 1962, Wyoming faced a crisis that claimed an average of 322 lives annually. This led to the formation of the Wyoming Safety Foundation, which evolved into the Wyoming Montana Safety Council. The mission is clear: to reduce accidents and fatalities through community-driven safety education.
