Founded in 2018 by a passionate group of advocates, WxLA is dedicated to promoting gender justice in landscape architecture. Inspired by global equality movements and personal experiences, WxLA raises awareness about the barriers that prevent women from achieving their full potential in this field. Through initiatives like the Women’s Landscape Equality (re)Solution and a successful scholarship program, WxLA has mobilized thousands of followers and volunteers, creating a powerful movement for change.

Over the past five years, WxLA has awarded scholarships to 44 emerging and mid-career leaders, enabling them to attend the Conference on Landscape Architecture. This initiative promotes gender equality and representation, ensuring that underrepresented genders have a voice in the profession.
