Founded in 2007 by Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) John J. McDaniel, the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation is dedicated to serving combat-wounded veterans. Based in Apollo Beach, Florida, this nonprofit organization began with a simple mission: to take Wounded Warriors on hunting and fishing trips. Recognizing the profound need for healing, WWIA has since evolved into a vital support system for over 175 Purple Heart recipients annually, hosting more than 41 events across North America.

WWIA is committed to healing the lives of America’s veterans and reducing veteran suicide. With over 1,500 testimonials from participants, the organization has demonstrated significant improvements in health, happiness, and overall well-being. Partnering with Cornell University, WWIA has conducted studies that reveal the effectiveness of its programs in combating veteran suicide, showcasing remarkable results.
