Our Story

Would Works was founded by Connor Johnson in 2012, inspired by the voices of those in need while working at a homeless shelter in Skid Row, Los Angeles. Listening to countless individuals express their desire to work, Connor initiated weekend woodworking workshops in church basements and community centers. Over a decade later, with the support of the Los Angeles woodworking community and advocates like Nick Offerman, Would Works has transformed into a thriving social enterprise.

Impact

Each year, Would Works hosts 200 woodworking workshops, providing over 6,000 hours of paid employment and hands-on training for individuals facing employment barriers and housing instability.
