Our Story
Worldreader is a global nonprofit founded in 2010, inspired by a trip to Ecuador where the founder, David Risher, witnessed a library with a padlocked door. Recognizing the potential of e-reader technology, Worldreader was established to provide access to digital reading materials for children in low-income communities. Since then, it has reached over 22 million readers across more than 100 countries.
Impact
With 77 million books read through its programs, Worldreader aims to get children reading at least 25 books a year, significantly improving their educational outcomes and emotional intelligence.
Why Donate?
Every dollar invested in a child's early learning can yield a return of $4 to $16. Donations to Worldreader directly support the provision of digital books and reading resources, helping children develop essential skills for their future.
