Worldmaker Resilience Institute Inc, known as Worldmaker International, began as a community-driven initiative in 2011, spearheaded by Dr. Mollie Marti in Iowa. The organization was born out of a pressing need to combat a suicide contagion that devastated local families. As the impact of this work spread, requests for assistance from other communities surged, prompting Dr. Marti to dedicate herself fully to this mission.

A Journey from Local to Global

Initially established as the National Resilience Institute (NRI), the organization focused on suicide prevention and resilience-building. Through extensive research and practical experience, Dr. Marti developed the THRIVE Resilience Model, which has since been implemented across the United States. In 2014, NRI began hosting annual Resilience Summits, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among resilience advocates.

In 2019, NRI evolved into Worldmaker International, expanding its mission to help individuals and communities navigate the complexities of modern life. The concept of 'worldmaking,' introduced during an international symposium, emphasizes the importance of creating supportive environments for individuals transitioning through adversity.

Global Reach and Impact

Worldmaker has made significant strides in providing virtual resilience education to learners in over 150 countries. By partnering with regional, national, and international organizations, Worldmaker is piloting and replicating THRIVE programs tailored for educators, first responders, veterans, and military families. The focus is on prevention and preparedness, ensuring that communities are equipped to handle crises effectively.
