Our Story
The World Hunger Ecumenical Arizona Task Force, known as WHEAT, was established in 1979 to tackle the root causes of hunger. By providing essential tools and resources, WHEAT empowers individuals to make a significant difference in the lives of those living in poverty. The organization encourages a global perspective while promoting local action, fostering understanding and sensitivity towards hunger issues. In 2003, WHEAT expanded its mission with the addition of World Hunger Education, Advocacy & Training, emphasizing education, advocacy, and training to eradicate hunger and poverty at their roots.
