Our Story
The World Council of Peoples for the United Nations (WCPUN) was established by European scholars and philanthropists in the aftermath of World War II. This private foundation aims to promote the objectives of the United Nations while aiding the restoration of educational and cultural institutions in Europe. With a commitment to minimal bureaucracy and high due diligence, WCPUN has facilitated numerous projects that align with UN efforts. In 1967, at the suggestion of U Thant, the third Secretary-General of the United Nations, WCPUN was officially registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) with the UN’s Department of Public Information.
