Community Building Through Christian Service

Our Story

Founded in 1989, Workcamp Northeast began with a small group of 17 students and their adult sponsors embarking on a mission trip to provide home repairs for low-income and disabled families in Bolivar, Tennessee. Recognizing the pressing needs in their own communities, the initiative expanded in 1995, inviting churches nationwide to join in this vital work. Under the leadership of Ken and Marcia Therrien since 2003, and with their son Marc joining in 2010, WorkcampNE has grown to host between four to seven week-long camps each year, mobilizing over 500 volunteers to repair 60 or more homes annually.

Impact

WorkcampNE is dedicated to equipping students to serve in the Northeast, the region with the highest need for the gospel, positively impacting families, communities, and the lives of young people.
