Our Story

Founded in 1973 by Chicago philanthropists Sylvia and Aaron Scheinfeld, Woodstock Institute has evolved from a conference center into a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing racial justice, low- and moderate-income housing, and economic development. Through research, training, and education, Woodstock Institute advocates for public and private policy alternatives that combat discriminatory housing and investment patterns.
