Our Story
In 2009, the Woodbridge Arts Alliance was born from a vision to revitalize the arts in Woodbridge Township. Inspired by a local resident, Bill Brandenburg, the initiative began with a suggestion to the Mayor to establish a music series while exploring the potential of a performing arts center. With the support of Mayor McCormac and dedicated volunteers like Al Schaefer, the Music on Main Street series launched at the Woodbridge United Methodist Church, featuring renowned artists and engaging the community in the arts.
After three successful years at the church, the series transitioned to the Barron Arts Center and later to the Theatre at Woodbridge Middle School. Following a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the series has now found a new home at the Avenel Performing Arts Center, promising to energize Avenel and surrounding communities with exceptional performances.
