Empowering Women in Psychedelic Research

The Women’s Visionary Council (WVC) was founded in 2008 by a group of dedicated female researchers and activists who recognized the critical need for women's voices in discussions surrounding emerging therapies for mental health conditions such as PTSD, end-of-life anxiety, and addiction. With the renewed focus on psychedelic-assisted therapies, including MDMA and psilocybin, the WVC aims to ensure that women, particularly women of color and indigenous women, are represented in these vital conversations.

Creating a Platform for Change

Since its inception, the WVC has organized the Women’s Visionary Congress, an annual event that provides a platform for women from diverse backgrounds to share their research, activism, and artistic expressions related to psychedelics and healing. This gathering has significantly increased women's participation in the field, fostering a community that embraces healing, resilience, and social justice.

Impacting Lives Through Grants

The WVC raises funds to provide grants to women leading the charge in psychedelic-assisted therapies. By amplifying the voices of marginalized communities and promoting the advancement of women scholars, the WVC is dedicated to transferring knowledge across generations and cultural traditions.
