Our Story

The Massachusetts Women’s History Center (MWHC) was founded in 2010 to engage the public in the ongoing fight for equitable rights for all women and marginalized populations in Massachusetts. Originally established as the Massachusetts Women’s Suffrage Celebration Committee, MWHC has evolved to share the inclusive stories of suffragists and the significant contributions of women throughout the state’s history.

Impact

MWHC inspires civic participation and advocates for equity and equality through education, arts, and events, highlighting the historical struggles and achievements of women in Massachusetts.
