Our Story

Women’s Resources of Monroe County began as two dedicated volunteer efforts: the Domestic Abuse Crisis Service and the Rape Crisis Service. In 1980, these two groups united to form Women’s Resources of Monroe County, now known as Safe Monroe. This organization has evolved to serve all individuals affected by domestic and sexual abuse, embodying a mission of safety, hope, and healing.
