Our Story

Founded in 1975, the Women’s Ordination Conference (WOC) is the oldest and largest organization advocating for the ordination of women as priests, deacons, and bishops in an inclusive Roman Catholic Church. WOC represents the majority of US Catholics who support women’s ordination, promoting accountability and inclusivity.

Impact

WOC is a grassroots-driven movement that fosters activism, dialogue, and prayerful witness, calling for women’s full equality in the Church. The organization challenges the Catholic Church to confront its history of sexism and oppression upheld by an all-male priesthood.
