Our Story

The Women’s Justice Initiative was founded to combat violence against women and girls while enhancing access to justice for Maya women. Since 2011, WJI has expanded its impactful programs across multiple communities in Guatemala, focusing on legal services, education, and empowerment.

Impact

Over the past twelve years, WJI has empowered more than 10,000 indigenous women and girls, providing legal representation to over 4,600 women and educating more than 5,600 through legal literacy courses.
