Our Story

The Women's Community Justice Association is dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of women, families, young adults, and gender-expansive individuals, particularly those affected by the justice system. Founded by Rev. Sharon White-Harrigan, this organization focuses on providing healing, justice, dignity, and safety for marginalized communities, especially at Rikers Island's Rose M. Singer Center.

Impact

WCJA has made significant strides in advocating for gender equality and social justice, particularly for women and gender-expansive individuals in the justice system. Collaborative efforts with partner organizations have led to increased awareness and support for the unique challenges faced by these communities.
