Our Story

Women Are Gold was born from a profound love for missions and a commitment to combat human trafficking in Cambodia. Founded by Jen and Rick Baltzersen, the organization emerged from their transformative experiences during international missions trips. In 2014, Jen's heart was forever changed after witnessing the horrors of human trafficking firsthand in Southeast Asia. This pivotal moment ignited a passion to serve those affected by this crisis.

In 2015, Rick joined Jen on a similar journey, and together they felt a divine calling to dedicate their lives to this cause. After moving to Kampong Cham, Cambodia, in 2017, they volunteered with an anti-trafficking organization, gaining invaluable insights into the local culture and the challenges faced by vulnerable communities.

Upon returning to the U.S. in 2019, the Baltzersens envisioned a proactive approach to combat trafficking, focusing on prevention, education, and empowerment. This vision led to the establishment of the Women Are Gold community center, where dreams are transformed into reality.
