Our Story
The concept behind Womanade at The Pinehills began with a group of women in Washington D.C. who gathered for potluck dinners, pooling their dining-out expenses into a community fund. This initiative inspired similar groups across various towns, including Hingham, MA, which gained recognition in the Boston Globe in 2006. Following this inspiration, Pinehills resident Cheryl O’Grady launched a similar effort in her community, leading to the first organizational meeting in April 2006. By March 2007, Womanade at The Pinehills was officially registered as a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing financial assistance to families with children in the Plymouth Public School System. The organization collaborates closely with school liaisons to identify families in need while ensuring their privacy is respected.
