Our Story
In early 2002, Todd Simmons moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, with a vision to make a difference through writing. He connected with fellow writers, artists, and activists who shared a common goal: to live fully while improving the world. This collaboration sparked the creation of Wolverine Farm Publishing, named after a small farm in Idaho, symbolizing a relentless pursuit of a wilder world.
Wolverine Farm launched its first publication, Matterzine, in March 2003, evolving into Matter Journal in 2004. By 2005, it transitioned into a nonprofit organization, establishing a volunteer-run bookstore at The Bean Cycle Coffeehouse. Today, Wolverine Farm continues to publish Matter Journal, Boneshaker: A Bicycling Almanac, and community newspapers like The Courier, fostering a vibrant literary arts community.
