About Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra

Founded in 1966 by Professor Marvin Rabin, the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO) has enriched the lives of over 5,000 young musicians across southern Wisconsin. Under the artistic direction of Kyle Knox, WYSO offers a diverse range of programs including three full orchestras, two string orchestras, and various ensembles.

WYSO is dedicated to making music education accessible, charging families only 30% of actual program costs. With 17% of students receiving need-based scholarships, WYSO ensures that financial barriers do not hinder musical exploration.
