Promoting Chess Education

About the Wisconsin Scholastic Chess Federation

Founded in 2004, the Wisconsin Scholastic Chess Federation (WSCF) has been a pioneer in promoting chess among students across Wisconsin. The journey began with a modest tournament at Donges Bay Elementary School, attracting 87 eager participants. Since then, WSCF has grown exponentially, sponsoring a remarkable 290 tournaments and engaging over 1,800 students in the current season alone.

Impact of Chess Education

Chess is more than just a game; it is a powerful tool for developing critical life skills. Through participation in chess, students enhance their problem-solving abilities, creative thinking, and reasoning skills—capabilities that will serve them throughout their lives.
