Celebrating Culture and Education
The Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation, Inc. has a rich history rooted in community celebration and cultural pride. Originally established in 1973 with the Mexican Fiesta, this vibrant festival began as a local street fair in Milwaukee County, showcasing the beauty and diversity of the Hispanic community. Over the years, it has evolved into Wisconsin’s largest paid-entry Mexican festival, held at the Henry Maier Festival Park. The festival not only celebrates Mexican heritage through music, dance, and cuisine but also serves as a platform for the Foundation’s mission to support educational opportunities for young Hispanic men and women.
Since its founding in 1987, the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation has successfully raised over $1.7 million in scholarship funds, empowering countless students to pursue their educational dreams. With the help of nearly one thousand volunteers and a dedicated Board of Directors, the Foundation continues to unify the community and promote the importance of education among Hispanic youth.
