Our Story

The Winters Healthcare Foundation was established in 2000 by a dedicated group of citizens, including farmers, retired seniors, and business owners, with a mission to enhance the health of all individuals in the Winters community, particularly underserved populations. Initially supporting a town physician, WHF evolved into a community clinic and later became a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Over the years, WHF has broadened its services to encompass dental, mental health, and gender-affirming care, becoming the primary healthcare provider for many, especially those without insurance.

Winters Healthcare has emerged as the main primary healthcare provider for numerous community members, particularly those lacking insurance or relying on public insurance. The organization prides itself on achieving high patient satisfaction, exceptional quality of care, and remarkable staff satisfaction through its relationship-based model of care and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
