Founded in 1997, WinterKids Education Foundation began as a Learn to Ski program aimed at fifth graders. Recognizing the alarming rise in childhood obesity and declining physical fitness, WinterKids was established to inspire children and families to embrace healthy outdoor winter lifestyles. In 2000, it became an independent nonprofit, dedicated to developing innovative health education programs that promote outdoor activity year-round.
