Winter Haven Christian School

Our Story

Founded in 1965 as First Baptist Christian Day School, Winter Haven Christian School has evolved into a thriving independent, interdenominational institution. Under the visionary leadership of Mary Brooks, the school expanded its offerings and in 1986 adopted its current name. The acquisition of 15 acres in 1992 paved the way for a new campus, which officially opened in 2002. With the appointment of Headmaster Joseph Klein in 2008, WHCS has continued to flourish, culminating in the construction of a new wing in 2013 to honor Nancy Shytle's dedication. Today, WHCS proudly serves over 450 students from Pre-K 4 through 12th grade.
