Our Story
Since the devastating landfall of Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Wings of Promise has been dedicated to reaching, rescuing, and restoring communities affected by natural disasters. Founded by Skipper Sauls, who personally experienced the destruction of his home during Hurricane Harvey and Tropical Storm Imelda, the organization understands the profound impact of disaster. With a mission fueled by compassion, Wings of Promise has rebuilt homes, delivered essential aid, and provided meals to thousands navigating the aftermath of calamities.
In December 2021, WOP responded to the catastrophic EF-4 tornado in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, which claimed over 50 lives and devastated the city. Partnering with local organizations, WOP provided thousands of meals to survivors and volunteers, showcasing the power of community support in times of crisis.
Wings of Promise extends its reach beyond U.S. borders, having served in countries like the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Panama. By partnering with local pastors, WOP not only delivers disaster relief but also shares the Gospel, fostering hope and resilience in vulnerable communities. In 2023, WOP is committed to rebuilding churches in Nicaragua and Panama, with two churches already completed and nine more targeted for completion by December 2023.
