The Windy City Rollers (WCR) began in 2004 when a group of women in Chicago came together to learn about roller derby, inspired by a similar league in Austin, TX. Officially starting bouting in 2005, WCR quickly gained popularity, breaking attendance records and expanding its teams and venues. The league promotes athleticism and fraternity among its members while fostering personal and professional growth.
WCR has successfully created a vibrant community that champions athleticism and personal growth. Skaters have the opportunity to develop their skills and compete at a national level, with the league qualifying for the WFTDA Championship Tournament every year from 2006 to 2014.
