Our Story
The Windber Public Library began its journey in 1916 with just 150 donated books, initiated by the Parent Teacher Association. Over the years, it has evolved from occupying various rooms in the local high school to becoming a vital community hub. In 1967, the library found a new home at the Railroad Station, thanks to the support of the Whalley Trust and the Glosser Foundation, which helped renovate the space. Today, the library resides in the former East End Elementary School, continuing its mission to serve the community.
